Removing a volume using a PowerFlex version prior to 3.5

Use this procedure to remove a volume with the PowerFlex GUI management software in the customer cluster.

About this task

PowerFlex Manager does not currently support removing a volume.

Steps

  1. In the PowerFlex GUI, select Frontend > Volumes.
  2. Expand the correct storage pool to see the mapped volumes.
  3. Right-click the volume that you want to delete and select Unmap.
  4. Select ALL the nodes to unmap this volume and click Unmap Volumes.
  5. Right-click the volume that you want to delete and select Remove > Volume and click OK.
  6. Type the MDM password when prompted and click Close.
  7. Update the PowerFlex Manager inventory, by doing the following steps:
    1. In the PowerFlex Manager GUI, go to Resources page, select the PowerFlex gateway and click Run Inventory.
    2. To confirm that the process completes with no errors, go Settings > Logs.
    3. In the PowerFlex Manager GUI, go to Services page for the hyperconverged, storage, and compute clusters and then click Update Service Details.
    4. After Update Service Details process completes, confirm that all cluster objects report as healthy (green check mark).
