Migrating vCLS VMs on controller nodes

Use this task to migrate vCLS VMs on controller nodes.

About this task

The VMware vSphere vCSA 7.0Ux update creates VMware vCLS VMs when the host is added to the cluster.

WARNING:VMware vCSA manages these VMs, no changes should be made to these VMs as it may impact the HA and DRS services. Skip this task, in case the VMs are already migrated to shared datastore.

Steps

  1. Click Administration > vCenter Server Extension > vSphere ESX Agent Manager > VMs. The VMs are also visible on the VMs and templates view.
  2. VMs are created under the vCLS folder once the host is added to the cluster.
  3. On the VMs and Templates view, click the vCLS folder.
  4. Right-click the VM and click Migrate.
  5. On the window, click Yes.
  6. Click Change storage only.
  7. For controller nodes, migrate them to the VSAN datastore.
  8. Repeat the above procedure for all the vCLS VMs.
