Jump server tools

The jump server is a standard embedded operating system based on CentOS 7 installation running Xorg and KDE for a desktop environment. Current versions of tftp-server, nfs-server, httpd (Apache), samba (CIFS), and vsftpd (FTP) are installed for use, as needed. Desktop icons for starting and stopping each service have been prepared to make daemon and firewall control relatively simple. Also installed are versions of Firefox and Google Chrome browsers, command-line  SCP is available to transfer files to and from the jump server.

Jump server service scripts

Each service has a bash script for starting and stopping the associated daemon. The use of sudo is built into each script. The scripts test if the target daemon is (or is not) running. The scripts then perform the set tasks (start and stop service, open and close firewall rules).  After successfully running, the scripts sleep (persist) for 10 seconds on screen, then exit the running script shell.

The scripts are located in the ~admin/service-scripts directory, these scripts are also run by the desktop icons.
