Installing the PowerFlex gateway prior to PowerFlex 3.5

Use this procedure to install the PowerFlex gateway on the PowerFlex management environment.

1. Download the SVM OVF and VMDK files and save them to a location that is accessible to the vCenter being used to manage the PowerFlex appliance management environment.
2. Log in to VMware vCenter.
3. Deploy the PowerFlex gateway OVF and VMDK files.
4. Type a unique name for the PowerFlex gateway VM name and select a location for the VM.
5. Select a compute resource for the PowerFlex gateway VM.
6. On the Review details page, click Next.
7. On the Select storage page, complete the following:
   1. Select Virtual disk provisioning: Thick Provision Lazy Zeroed.
   2. VM Storage policy: Datastore Default.
   3. Select a datastore on which to install the VM. Do not install VMs on BOSS cards.
   4. Click Next.
8. On the Select networks page:
   1. Set VM Networks to <MGMT VLAN>.
   2. Click Next.
9. Review details on Ready to complete page and then click Finish.
10. Wait for the PowerFlex gateway OVF deployment to complete.
11. Right-click the PowerFlex gateway VM and select Edit Settings. Set the following:
    1. Network adapter 1: <MGMT VLAN>
    2. Network adapter 2: <DATA1 VLAN>
    3. Network adapter 3: <DATA2 VLAN>
    4. Network adapter 4: <DATA3 VLAN> (if required)
    5. Network adapter 5: <DATA4 VLAN> (if required)
12. Click OK.
