Installing the Java and PowerFlex gateway RPMs
Use this procedure to install the Java and PowerFlex gateway RPMs.
Steps
- Use VMware virtual console to connect to PowerFlex gateway VM.
- At the command prompt, type: cd /root/install
- Install Java RPM by typing the following: #rpm -ivh java-1.8.0-openjdk-headless-1.8.0.292.b10-1.el7_9.rpm.

Install gateway RPM by typing:
GATEWAY_ADMIN_PASSWORD=<ADMIN PWD> rpm -I EMC-ScaleIO-gateway-3.0-100.208.x86_64.rpm

Confirm the correct network configuration and the installation of the rpms by using a web browser to connect to the
PowerFlex gateway (<MGMT IP>).
The PowerFlex Installer login dialog box opens.
- Close the PowerFlex Installer box without logging in.
- If there is a system failure, Dell recommends creating a snapshot of the PowerFlex gateway to allow recovery.
