Converting the Windows jump VM to the embedded operating system jump VM

Use this procedure to convert the Windows jump VM to the embedded operating system jump VM.

Steps

  1. Obtain the updated embedded OS image from the IC software repository.
  2. Deploy the existing the embedded jump VM and assign a valid IP address with internet connectivity. A valid DNS entry must be defined.
    The embedded OS jump VM will replace the existing Windows server.
  3. Run df -h to verify that there is enough available free space on the /shares partition of the embedded jump VM to download the RPM packages and create the ZIP file. At least 15 GB is recommended.
  4. Run uname -a to determine the embedded operating system version and verify the Linux kernel version by reviewing the output and the values in the file (/etc/centos-release).
  5. Run cat /etc/centos-release to verify the embedded operating system version.
