Changing the root password on the VM

After deploying the PowerFlex gateway OVF, you must change the root password of the VM.

Steps

  1. Log in to VMware vCenter.
  2. Power on the PowerFlex gateway VM.
  3. Use VMware virtual console to connect to the PowerFlex gateway VM.
  4. Log in using these credentials: User is root, password is admin.
  5. Use the Linux passwd command to change the default password to <ROOT PWD>.
  6. To logout of the console, type exit.
  7. Log in to the root account using the new password <ROOT PWD> to ensure it works.
