Adding a replication consistency group

Use this procedure to add a replication consistency group (RCG).

Steps

  1. Log in to the PowerFlex GUI presentation server; https://presentation_server_ip:8443.
NOTE:Use the primary MDM IP address and credentials to log in to the PowerFlex cluster.
  2. In the left pane, select Protection > RCGs.
  3. Click Add.
    1. In the General tab, provide the RCG Name and RPO (recovery point objective).
RPO is the amount of time of data loss that is tolerated if replication between the systems is compromised.
NOTE:It is recommended to enter the minimal amount of time the feature allows. In this case, it is one minute.
    2. Select the Source Protection Domain, Target System, and Target Protection Domain from the menu and click Next.
  4. On the Add Replication Pairs page:
    1. Click the volume from the Source column and click the corresponding size volume from the Target column.
NOTE:Source and destination volumes should be identical.
    2. Click Add pair, select the added pair that must be replicated and click Next.
  5. On the Review Pairs page:
    1. Select the added pair and click Add RCG & Start Replication and start replication.
    2. Verify that the operation completes successfully and click Dismiss.
The RCG is added to both the source and target systems. It is necessary to wait for the end of the initial copy transmit before start to use.
