Dell PowerFlex Appliance with PowerFlex 3.x Administration Guide

PDF

Administering the network

Perform these procedures to administer the PowerFlex appliance network.

NOTE:If Cisco switches require TACACS+ authentication, PowerFlex Manager functions normally.
PowerFlex supports multi-subnet or multi-VLAN for all network types other than data, vSAN, and NSX overlay.
NOTE:For a multi-VLAN or multi subnet configuration, the PowerFlex management controller management is configured with VLAN 130 instead of the VMware ESXi management for all the Management VMs that reside on 105. For standard build without multi-VLAN or multi subnet, either VMware ESXi management (VLAN-105) or PowerFlex management controller management(preferred VLAN-130) is used.
  • When using a multi-VLAN network, aggregation switches are configured with the corresponding SVI interface and a trunk allowed VLAN list.

  • When using a multi-subnet network, an additional IP address configuration is required for each additional subnet that is used within the VLAN and first hop redundancy configuration, as required.
NOTE:Configure multi-VLAN 130 on all the controller connected access and leaf switches.

Configure flex-oob-mgmt multi-VLANs on all the access and leaf switches.
