Shut down the SVM

The SVM must be shut down to add the replication interfaces

About this task

Put the SDS into maintenance mode, if the SDS is a primary MDM as well, switch the MDM role to the secondary MDM before proceeding.

NOTE:Place one SDS node into maintenance mode at a time.

Steps

  1. Log in to PowerFlex Manager.
  2. Click Block > SDSs.
  3. Select the relevant SDS and click More Actions > Enter Maintenance Mode.
  4. Click Instant.
  5. Click Enter Maintenance Mode.
  6. Shut down the SVM:
    1. Log in to VMware vCenter using VMware vSphere Client.
    2. Select the SVM, right-click Power > Shut-down Guest OS.
