Dell PowerFlex Appliance with PowerFlex 4.x Administration Guide

Increase memory

Modify the memory size according to the SDR requirements on a replication-enabled PowerFlex node.

About this task

NOTE:12 GB of additional memory is required for SDR. For example, if you have 24 GB memory existing in the SVM for an MG pool, add 12 GB for enabling replication, 24+12 = 36 GB. If you have 32 GB memory existing in the SVM for an FG pool, add 12 GB for enabling replication so it would be 32 + 12 = 44 GB.

Steps

  1. Log in to the VMware vCenter vSphere client.
  2. Right-click the VM you want to change and select Edit Settings.
  3. Under the Virtual Hardware tab, expand Memory and modify the memory size according to the SDR requirement.
  4. Click OK.
