Create and configure replication port groups

Create and configure replication port groups (flex-rep1-<vlanid> and flex-rep2-<vlanid>) in flex_dvswitch.

Steps

  1. Log in to the VMware vSphere client and click Home > Inventory > Network.
  2. Open the customer data center.
  3. Right-click flex_dvswitch and select Distributed Port Group > New Distributed Port Group.
  4. Type flex-rep1 and click Next.
  5. From VLAN type menu, select VLAN and enter the VLAN ID (from the LCS).
  6. Select Customize default policies configuration under Advanced option.
  7. Click Next > Next > Next.
  8. From Teaming and failover tab:
    1. Change Load Balancing to Route based on IP hash.
    2. Move up the LACP-Lag uplink under Active uplinks.
    3. Move down uplink1 and uplink2 under Unused uplinks.
    4. Click Next.
  9. Click Next > Next > Finish.
  10. Repeat Steps 3 through 9 to create the following port group: flex-rep2 (VLAN ID as per the LCS).
