Installing the EDSFF E3.S backplane module
Prerequisites
- Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions.
- Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system.
- Remove the front bezel.
- Remove the cooling fan cage assembly.
- Remove the drive backplane cover.
- If required, remove the air shroudor remove the GPU air shroud.
- Remove the EDSFF E3.S PERC module.
- Remove the EDSFF E3.S drives.
- Disconnect the cables, observe the cable routing.
NOTE:See cable routing section; configuration 45 or 46 for more information.
Steps
- Align the guides on the EDSFF E3.S backplane module with the slots on the system.
- Slide the EDSFF E3.S backplane module towards the rear of the system, until it is firmly secured.
- Using a Phillips #2 screwdriver, tighten the captive screw on the EDSFF E3.S backplane module.

- Connect all the cables, observe the cable routing.
NOTE:See cable routing section; configuration 45 or 46 for more information.
- Install the EDSFF E3.S PERC module.
- Install the cooling fan cage assembly.
- If removed, install the air shroudor install the GPU air shroud.
- Install the drive backplane cover.
- Install the EDSFF E3.S drives .
- Install the front bezel.
- Follow the procedure listed in After working inside your system.
