Installing the drive bay 1 backplane bracket
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system.
- If installed, remove the front bezel.
- Remove all the drives from drive bay 1.
- Open the drive bays.
Steps
- Align the backplane bracket with the two slots at the bay base in drive bay 1.
- Slide the bracket to the left until it is firmly seated and locks into place.
- Using a Phillips #1 screwdriver, tighten the screws on top of the drive bay to secure the bracket.

Next steps
- Install all the drives.
- Close the drive bays.
- If removed, install the front bezel.
