Workaround steps on appliance
Perform the below steps if there is an issue while working on the appliance:
Steps
- Cancel the data recovery jobs on the dashboard, if the appliance does not shutdown properly.

On the hypervisor terminal, run the following commands, if there is issue in powering on the DDVE VM :
[root@ :/etc] esxcli hardware pci pcipassthru set -a -d 0000:3f:00.0 -e true
[root@ :/etc] esxcli hardware pci pcipassthru set -a -d 0000:3e:00.0 -e true
[root@ :/etc] esxcli hardware pci pcipassthru set -a -d 0000:3d:00.0 -e true
- Reboot the system by going to PPOE if there is a issue on the shutdown page of the appliance.
- Check /data05/logs/ppoe/configuratio/configuration.log on PPOE to see state of system, if there is a issue on the start up page of the appliance.

In case of DDVE startup failure perform the steps:
- Ensure that all the data disk and cache disks are in non-raid mode.
- On ESXi, stop dpinfrad: /etc/init.d/dpinfrad stop.
- On ESXi, run: /opt/dell/idpa/bin/configure_ddve_rdm.py.
- Run Appliance start the API curl --location -k --request POST 'https://<ppoe_ip>8002/configapi/rest/v1/appliance/start' --header 'Authorization: <auth>'.

If public IPs are not getting assigned, then recover PPOE VM management and backup Network connectivity after ESXi Restore with the following steps:
- Login to ESXi or vCenter via UI.
- Go to .
- Go to Network Adapter section. Click Connect for both DP-appliance-mgmt-dpg and DP-appliance-backup-dpg and save. Verify that all the network adapters are connected.

If public IPs are not getting assigned, then recover DDVE VM backup Network connectivity after ESXi Restore with the following steps:
- Login to ESXi or vCenter via UI.
- Go to .
- Go to Network Adapter section. Click Connect for all DP-appliance-backup-dpg and save. Verify that all the network adapters are connected.
