Dell PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance 5.12.0.1 Administrator Guide for DM5500

System maintenance troubleshooting

Services do not start after restarting PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance

If the operating system root password expires and you do not change the password before you restart PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance, some scripts fail to obtain root privileges. In this situation, the PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance services cannot start.

Follow the guidance in the PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance Security Configuration Guide for operating system expired password behavior to change the root password. Then, restart PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance again.
