PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance 5.16.0.0 Storage Array User Guide

Review the protection policy summary

Review the protection policy configuration details. You can click Edit next to any completed step details to change any information. When you are finished reviewing the details, click Finish.

Select Show Schedules to display schedule details for each objective.

An informational message appears to confirm that PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance has saved the protection policy. For centralized backups, when a new protection policy is created, PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance performs the first full backup and subsequent backups according to the specified schedule.

When the protection policy is created, a policy configuration job is started. For a PowerStore block volume type policy, this job creates a user with privileges for the target protection storage that is selected for this policy. The name of this user is in the format user_ targetStorageName_UniqueIdentifier. One user is always created for every target protection storage system selected. If the target storage is a DM5500 system, then a DPIAM user is created. If the target storage is an external DD system (for example, for a replication objective), then a DD user is created.

Click OK to exit the window, or click Go to Jobs to open the Jobs > Protection Jobs window to monitor the backup of the new protection policy.
