PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance 5.16.0.0 Administrator's Guide for DM5500

Clean file system manually

The file system clean can be initiated manually, when required. Performing an ad hoc clean helps to immediately apply specific configuration changes to the file system instead of waiting for the next scheduled cleaning job to apply these changes.

About this task

If a scheduled cloud cleaning is in progress and active tier cleaning is triggered manually, cloud cleaning is aborted, and active tier cleaning begins.

If a manual cloud cleaning is in progress and active tier cleaning is triggered manually, the active tier cleaning is declined as active tier cleaning and cloud cleaning have the same priority.

Steps

  1. From the left navigation pane, select Infrastructure > Storage.
    The Storage window appears.
  2. On the Summary tab, in the Active Tier section, click the three vertical dots.
  3. From the menu, select Clean Now.
The Clean Active Tier Now dialog box appears.
  4. Set the Throttle (%) percentage, as required. It defines the number of resources that can be used to perform the task at hand.
  5. To revert to the default setting, click Reset to Default.
  6. Click Clean to start cleaning the file system immediately.
