PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance 5.15.0.0 Security Configuration Guide for DM5500

External component certificate management

As PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance stores the security certificates for trusted external components, external components can store the PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance security certificates for future identification. Some external components may establish two-way trust through mutual exchange of security certificates.

When you change the security certificates for PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance or an external component, restore the trust relationships by exchanging the new security certificates.

  • If the security certificates for an external component have changed, import these certificates into PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance.
  • If the PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance security certificates have changed, exchange the PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance certificates with external components, as required. The documentation for each external component provides instructions for importing these certificates.
