Verify the vendor for Linux (Debian-based) packages

Use these steps to confirm that a Linux Debian package file was signed by Dell and has not changed since the signing.

1. Open a terminal window or shell session.
2. Change directory to the location of the package file.
3. Check the properties for the package file:

   dpkg-deb --showformat='${Package}\t${Version}\t${Maintainer}\n' --show package

   Where package is the package filename.

4. Verify that the package vendor is Dell support <support@dell.com>.
