Verification

The following topics describe how you can verify the authenticity and integrity of Data Manager Appliance Software components and binaries. Verification typically includes confirmation that the components have not changed since the digital signatures were applied.

The appliance upgrade packages are signed by Dell certificate. The appliance also performs the checks of integrity and authenticity during upgrade. If the package is not signed by correct certificate, and then the upgrade process raises an alert the customer.

The Dell signing certificates have validity. If the older certificate expires, the new certificate replaces the older one. In this process, customer must accept the signature of the new certificate so that it is used for future validations.
