PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance 5.15.0.0 Security Configuration Guide for DM5500

PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance firewall support

PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance uses the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) firewall to protect and limit external access to the system. PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance uses a direct socket connection to communicate and move data internally and across the network to the required service with minimal overhead.

To enable communication between the PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance system and other applications, PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance configures firewall rules for ports that are used for inbound and outbound communication.
