Configure a local Security Officer role user

The Security Officer role is responsible for authorizing critical operations in the appliance. It is recommended that the Administrator creates the user with Security Officer role post appliance configuration. There is an alert on the appliance until the Security Officer is created. Only one user with Security Officer role can be created on the appliance.

About this task

NOTE:Assign the Security Officer role to a local user, do not assign a SO user to an Active Directory group.

Perform the following steps to configure a local Security Officer role user from the Get Started page.

Steps

  1. Click Configure in the Security pane.
  2. Configure the following in the User Details section on the Security wizard.
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Email Address
  3. Configure the following in the Login Details section on the Security wizard.
    • Username
    • Password
    • Confirm Password
    NOTE:Enable or disable the toggle below the Confirm Password field to force password change when you log in for the first time.
  4. Click Next to choose the role.
  5. Select the Security Officer radio button.
  6. Click Next to the Assests page.
  7. Click Finish on the Summary page.
