Remove a vault stage from a protection policy

Remove a vault stage from a protection policy from a primary or a replication stage.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure that at least one protection policy is created with vault stage enabled.
  • Ensure a Security Officer User exists on the appliance.

Steps

  1. From the left navigation pane, select Protection > Protection Policies.
    The Protection Policies window appears.
  2. Click the radio button next to an existing PLC, with vault stage enabled.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Click Next on the Assests window.
    The Objectives window appears.
  5. Click Remove on the Vault stage.
    A warning message appears, Removing the vault stage will prevent any business-critical data to be captured in the vault.
    NOTE:If more than one policy is using the vaulted storage unit, then the warning message displays a list of policies that are using this storage unit. In this case, to remove the vault stage, change the storage unit associated with the parent stage.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. Optionally, click the checkbox next to Options, to enable additional parameters for the protection policy or click Next.
    The Summary page appears.
  8. Click Finish, to save the protection policy.
    The Confirm Security Authorization window appears.
  9. Enter the Security Officer credentials.
  10. Click Confirm.

Results

Post successful deletion, the vault stage is removed for the Protection Policies in the UI.
NOTE: If the vaulted storage unit is not being used by other policies in the system, delete the replication context in the vault DD system.
