PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance 5.15.0.0 Administrator's Guide for DM5500

Delete replication target

Delete a storage system that is used as a target for replication.

Prerequisites

Perform the maintenance tasks before removing a replication target.

  1. Wait for all the backup copies that use the replication target system to expire. The expiration time can be reduced by editing the retention value of the backup copies from the Assets > View Copies window.
  2. For each protection policy that uses the replication target system, edit the protection policy and replace the replication target system with another one or remove the protection policy entirely.

Steps

  1. From the left navigation pane, select Infrastructure > Storage.
    The Storage window appears.
  2. On the Replication Targets tab, select a replication target, and click Delete.
The Delete Replication Target confirmation dialog box appears.
  3. Click Delete to confirm the deletion.
The replication target system is removed. If a replication target system is removed without following the prerequisite steps, error messages are displayed regarding the inability to delete the copies from protection storage or for asset. Also, messages for system jobs failure are displayed.
  4. Contact Customer Support, if the situation prevails.
