Add replication target

To support replication, you must first setup replication targets in the appliance. Add and configure storage as a target for replication in the appliance.

Steps

  1. From the left navigation pane, select Infrastructure > Storage.
    The Storage window appears.
  2. On the Replication Targets tab, click Add.
    The Add Replication Targets dialog box appears.
  3. In the Storage Type field, select PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance or PowerProtect DD System.
    NOTE:To add a High Availability PowerProtect DD system, select the check box.
  4. Specify the Replication Target attributes:
    1. In the Name field, specify a storage name.
    2. In the Address field, specify the hostname, fully qualified domain name (FQDN), or the IP address.
    3. In the Port field, specify the port for SSL communication. The default value is 8443 for PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance and 3009 for PowerProtect DD System.
  5. For PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance storage type, select the Enable Sync check box to enable syncing.
  6. Select Add Credentials from the Host Credentials list. Alternatively, if you have already configured storage credentials that are common across storage systems, select an existing password.
    The Add Credentials dialog box appears.
  7. Provide the applicable credentials and click Save.
    • Type : Provide the credential type.
    • Name: Add the name of the credentials. This is a mandatory field.
    • Username: Add the PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance user with an administrator role. This is a mandatory field.
    • Password: Set the password for the user with an administrator role. This is a mandatory field.
    NOTE: It is recommended to not use the default admin user but rather another user with an administrator role permission, to avoid certain account lock out situations.
  8. Click Save to save the credential.
    You return to the Add Replication Targets dialog box.
  9. Click Verify to verify the certificate.
    The Verify Certificate dialog box appears.
  10. Click Accept to confirm that the certificate details are verified.
    You return to the Add Replication Targets dialog box.
  11. Click Save to save the replication target.
