Removing the power-supply fan
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the stand.
- Remove the back cover.
- Remove the system-board shield.
- Remove the I/O cover.
- Remove the power-supply unit.
- Remove the bottom cover.
About this task
The following image(s) indicate the location of the power-supply fan and provides a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Disconnect the power-supply fan cable (FAN SYS) from the system board.
- Thread the power-supply fan cable under the I/O bracket and remove the power-supply fan cable from the routing guide on the display-assembly base.
- Remove the audio-board cable from the routing guides on the display-assembly base and the power-supply fan.
- Remove the antenna cables from the routing guides on the display-assembly base and the power-supply fan.
- Remove the two screws (M3x5) that secure the power-supply fan to the display-assembly base.
- Lift the power-supply fan off the display-assembly base.
