Removing the 2.5-inch hard-drive

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the side cover.
  3. Remove the front bezel.
  4. Remove the 2.5/3.5-inch hard-drive caddy.

About this task

The following images indicate the location of the hard drive and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.

NOTE The hard-drive caddy can hold both 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch hard drives simultaneously. Turn over the caddy to find the second set of mounting points for hard-drives.

Steps

  1. Pull the two tabs from the hard-drive caddy away from the hard-drive.
  2. Slide the hard-drive towards the right to free it from the mounting points on the caddy and lift it away from the system.
