Removing the system fan
CAUTION:The information in this removal section is intended for authorized service technicians only.
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the side cover.

Steps
- Disconnect the system-fan cable from the connector (FAN SYS) on the system board.
- Gently pull and release the system fan from the rubber grommets.
- Remove the system fan from the chassis.
