Removing the media-card reader
CAUTION:The information in this removal section is intended for authorized service technicians only.
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the side cover.
- Remove the front bezel.
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the media-card reader and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Remove the screw (M3x3) that secures the media-card reader door to the chassis.
- Lift to open the media-card reader door and remove it from the chassis.
- Remove the screw (M2x3.5) that secures the media-card reader to the system board.
- Slide and remove the media-card reader from the connector (SD CARD) on the system board.
