Removing the internal antenna module

CAUTION:The information in this removal section is intended for authorized service technicians only.

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the side cover.
  3. Remove the front bezel.
  4. Remove the wireless card.

The following images indicate the location of the internal antenna module and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.

Steps

  1. Gently pull the internal-antenna cable out from the slot on the chassis.
  2. Remove the internal-antenna cable from the routing guides on the chassis.
  3. Remove the two screws (M3x3) that secure the internal antenna module to the chassis.
  4. Remove the internal antenna module from the chassis.
