Installing the secondary 3.5-inch hard drive

Prerequisites

If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.

Steps

  1. Align and insert the secondary 3.5-inch hard drive into the hard-drive bracket.
  2. Align the screw holes on the 3.5-inch hard-drive bracket to the holes on the hard drive.
  3. Replace the fours screws (#6-32) to secure the secondary 3.5-inch hard-drive to the hard-drive bracket.
  4. Align and place the secondary 3.5-inch hard-drive assembly in the hard-drive slot on the chassis.
  5. Replace the screw (#6-32) to secure the secondary 3.5-inch hard-drive assembly to the chassis.
  6. Connect the data and power cables to the respective connectors on the secondary 3.5-inch hard drive.
  7. Route the data and power cables through the retention clips on the secondary 3.5-inch hard drive assembly.
