Installing the 3.5-inch hard-disk drive

If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.

Installing the 3.5-inch hard-disk drive

Steps

  1. Hold the 3.5-inch hard drive against the chassis and align the four (#6-32) grommet screws on the hard-disk drive with the screw holes on the chassis.
  2. Slide the 3.5-inch hard-disk drive down to lock the four grommet screws on to its screw holes on the chassis.
  3. Connect the power cable and data cable to the connectors on the hard-disk drive module.

Next steps

  1. Install the fan duct.
  2. Install the side cover.
