Removing optional I/O modules (HDMI/VGA/DP/Serial)
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the side cover.
- Remove the hard-drive and optical-drive bracket.
- Remove the heat-sink and fan assembly.
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the optional I/O Modules and provides a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Remove the two (M3X3) screws that secure the optional I/O module to the computer chassis.
- Disconnect the I/O-module cable from the connector on the system board.
- Remove the I/O module from the computer.
