Deleting the object store using the ObjectScale Portal user interface automatically deletes the storage (persistent volume claims [PVCs]) that are associated with it. The volumes and file systems are removed from the back-end storage as a result. Deleting an object store will not invoke garbage collection.
CAUTION:Deleting an object store deletes all associated user data, and the delete action is irreversible.
Steps
From the ObjectScale Portal user interface, click
Administration > ObjectScale.
The list of
Object Stores in the selected namespace that the user is authorized to view is displayed.
Select the appropriate namespace from the namespace drop-down on the upper right the ObjectScale Portal user interface.
Select the object store to delete by clicking the checkbox to the left of the object store name.
Click
Delete and confirm in the dialog box that appears.
The object store disappears from the table before all the resources associated with it (pods, PVCs, volumes, so on) have been deleted. The removal operations continue in the background for a few minutes (depends on the size of the store). Removal can be monitored with
kubectl (for example, using
get pods).
