Performing a manual backup using NSR backup template
With NetWorker 19.9, manual backups can be performed using NSR backup template resource. This resource is the only way to enable DD retention lock for client-initiated backups.
Backup template name should be passed while running manual save to apply DD Retention Lock.
For example:
- Save -a template="Day" <filename>
Using the backup template, user can set volume pool, storage node, retention policy, browse policy, and retention lock time. This will reduce the number of command line arguments while running save. This resource can be configured using nsradmin utility. See the NetWorker Command Reference Guide to create NSR backup template.
A new hidden attribute Default template is added in NSR client resource which will populate NSR backup template resource name. If this attribute is specified then, user can run:
- Save <filename>
