LINK VDG

The LINK VDG command links the volumes in the specified snapset to the specified target set.

You can issue a LINK VDG command against a target set that is already linked. You do not have to unlink the target set first. When running LINK VDG for an already linked target set, ensure that the source devices are linked to the same target devices in the same order.

Syntax

LINK VDG vdg_name, SNAPSET(snapset_id) [TO] TGT tgtst_name

[,ALLOW_LARGER_TARGET]

[,COPY_ONCE({INCLUDE|ONLY})]

[,MODE({COPY|NOCOPY})] The default value is COPY.

[,READY({Yes|No})] The default value is Yes.

NOTE:VDG is an alias for VERSIONED_DATA_GROUP. TGT is an alias for TARGET_SET. You can also use optional parenthesis as follows: VDG(vdg_name) or TGT(tgtst_name).

Command-specific parameters

[TO] TGT tgtst_name

Specifies the target set to which to link the volumes in the snapset. See tgtst_name.

NOTE:‘TO TGT’ is an alias of ‘TGT’.
COPY_ONCE({INCLUDE|ONLY})

See COPY_ONCE. Using COPY_ONCE(INCLUDE) on the LINK VDG command requires MAX_RC=4 or higher.
