Imports the VDG or target set definition or definitions from the Symmetrix File System (SFS).

If a definition exists on multiple storage systems, only the most recently exported definition is used. All storage systems (accessible by SCF) are scanned and the most recent version of the SFS object is identified and loaded.

Any imported definition uses normalized syntax.

You can import a definition of a specified VDG or target set, or import all definitions. When you import all definitions, only VDGs and target sets that have not been deleted are redefined. VDGs and target sets that were saved to SFS using the SAVE option of the DELETE VDG or DELETE TGT command, must be imported individually by name.

Syntax

IMPORT {ALL|VDG {vdg_name|*}|TGT {tgtst_name|*}}

Command-specific parameters

ALL

Imports all VDG and target set definitions that were exported to SFS.

When ALL is specified, only VDGs and target sets that had not been deleted are redefined.

TGT {tgtst_name|*}

Specifies the target set definition or definitions to be imported. See tgtst_name.

An asterisk (*) import all target sets. When * is specified, only target sets that had not been deleted are redefined.

VDG {vdg_name|*}

Specifies the VDG definition or definitions to be imported. See vdg_name.

An asterisk (*) import all VDGs. When * is specified, only VDGs that had not been deleted are redefined.
