EXPortDEF

Enables or disables the zDP definition export and import capabilities.

The EXPortDEF parameter can be specified on the GLOBAL command.

NOTE:For the list of controls that can be enabled or disabled using the EXPortDEF option, see Enabling and disabling import and export.

For zDP environments where all VDGs or target sets are created with Mainframe Enablers 8.5, the default EXPortDEF value is AUTO. For zDP environments created with earlier versions of Mainframe Enablers, the default value is NO.

Syntax

EXPortDEF(Yes|No|AUTO)

Options

AUTO
(Default) zDP automatically exports all new and changed VDG and target set definitions to the Symmetrix File System (SFS). With the AUTO setting, the DELETE VDG and DELETE TGT commands (without the SAVE option specified) delete the corresponding exported VDG definitions from SFS.
NO
Disables zDP definition export and import capabilities.
YES
Disables automatic export but allows you to issue export and import commands manually.
