Enabling and disabling import and export

The zDP definition export and import capabilities can be enabled or disabled using the zDP GLOBAL command option EXPortDEF. This option enables or disables the following controls:

  • zDP Definition Utility controls:
  • zDP ISPF interface controls:
    • XV Exported VDG and XT Exported TGT options in the zDP Tool List panel
    • The zDP Exported VDGs panel and its options
    • The zDP Exported Target Sets panel and its options
    • The SAVE option in the Confirm Delete panel

For zDP environments where all VDGs or target sets are created with Mainframe Enablers 8.5, zDP by default automatically exports each VDG or target set definition that is created or updated for the current running zDP instance. You can disable automatic export by setting the zDP GLOBAL command EXPortDEF option to YES (to allow manual export only) or NO (to disable export capabilities).

For zDP environments created with earlier versions of Mainframe Enablers, automatic export is not performed by default.

NOTE:The EXPortDEF option can also be set in the zDP Specify the Session Parameters ISPF panel.
