AUTOMATIC_ACTivate

Determines whether to perform (Yes, default) or not (No) an automatic ACTIVATE when there are multiple LINK requests in the input stream and no ACTIVATE has been supplied by the user.

The AUTOMATIC_ACTIVATE parameter cannot be used for group processing. SnapVX ignores AUTOMATIC_ACTIVATE for any LINK requests that specify a group name or a virtual device.

The activation that is provided by AUTOMATIC_ACTIVATE is not consistent. For the activation to be consistent, you must either:

  • Specify the consistent ACTIVATE command with the CONSISTENT parameter.
  • Specify the GLOBAL command with the CONSISTENT parameter.

The AUTOMATIC_ACTIVATE parameter can be specified on the GLOBAL command. It has a matching site option, &AUTOACTIVATE.

Syntax
