Removing the Palmrest

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. battery

    2. base cover

    3. keyboard trim

    4. keyboard

  3. Remove the screws that secure the palmrest to the computer. Figure displaying removing the screws that secure palmrest assembly to the base of the computer.
  4. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Flip the computer.
    2. Disconnect touchpad and power LED cables from their connectors on the system board [1] [2].
    3. Remove the screws that secure palmrest to the computer [3].

  5. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Pry the edges of the palmrest assembly [1]
