Removing the Keyboard

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer
  2. Remove:
    1. battery

    2. base cover

    3. keyboard trim

  3. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Peel the adhesive tape to access the keyboard cable [1].
    2. Disconnect the keyboard cable from its connector on the system board [2] [3].

  4. Remove the screws that secure the keyboard to the computer.Figure displaying removing the keyboard screws.
  5. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Pry the keyboard to release it from the computer [1]
