Removing the Power-Connector Port

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover

    2. battery

  3. Disconnect the power-connector port cable from the system board [1] and release the power-connector port cable from its routing channels [2]. Figure displaying how to disconnect the power-connector port cable and how to release the power-connector port cable from its routing channel.
  4. Perform the following steps:
    1. Remove the screw to release the metal bracket on the power-connector port [1] [2].
    2. Lift and remove the power-connector port from the computer [3]. Figure displaying how to remove the power-connector port from the computer.
