Removing the Palmrest

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer
  2. Remove:
    1. battery

    2. bottom cover

    3. docking board

    4. GPS module

    5. USH board

    6. MEMS board

    7. hard drive

    8. Disconnect the battery cable from the battery board.
    9. system fan

    10. card bracket

    11. memory module

    12. antenna routing bracket

    13. WLAN

    14. WWAN

    15. heatsink

    16. battery board

    17. SIM board

    18. system board

  3. To release the palmrest:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the palmrest [1].
    2. Flip the computer chassis [2].

  4. To remove the palmrest:
    1. Open the display [1].
    2. Pry the palmrest from the retention hooks [2].
