Removing the Display Assembly

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. battery

    2. bottom cover

    3. docking board

    4. GPS module

    5. USH board

    6. MEMS board

    7. hard drive

    8. Disconnect the battery cable to from the battery board.
    9. card bracket

    10. WLAN

    11. WWAN

    12. heatsink

  3. To remove the eDP connector and unroute the display cables:
    1. Unroute the display cable from the system board [1].
    2. Remove the screws that secure the eDP connector [2].
    3. Lift up and remove the bracket from the connector [3].

  4. To release the display assembly:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the display hinge cover [1].
    2. Lift and remove the display hinge cover [2].
    3. Lift and pull the rubber gasket to release the cables routed through the gasket [3].

  5. Remove the screws that secure the display hinges and flip the computer chassis.

  6. Unlock the display and lift the display to remove it from the computer chassis.
