Removing the Keyboard and Keyboard door

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. To release the keyboard:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the keyboard to the computer chassis [1].
    2. Pry along the edges and flip the keyboard over [2].

  3. To remove the keyboard door:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the keyboard door [1].
    2. Lift the keyboard door [2].
    3. Disconnect the keyboard cables from the motherboard connector by pressing on the locking tab and lifting the connector upwards [3,4].
    4. Lift and remove the keyboard from the computer chassis.
