Removing the System Board

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. battery

    2. bottom cover

    3. docking board

    4. GPS module

    5. GPS module

    6. USH board

    7. MEMS board

    8. hard drive

    9. system fan

    10. card bracket

    11. memory module

    12. antenna routing bracket

    13. WLAN

    14. WWAN

    15. heatsink

    16. battery board

    17. SIM board assembly

    18. keyboard

  3. Disconnect the following cables from the system board:
    1. I/O board cable
    2. speaker cable
    3. coin-cell battery cable
  4. Disconnect the ribbon cables from the system board [1,2].

  5. To remove the video connectors:
    1. Open the connector latch door.
    2. Remove the screws that secure the video connectors [1].
    3. Remove the connectors away from the computer [1].

  6. To remove the system board:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the eDP connector [1].
    2. Lift and remove the eDP connector bracket [2].
    3. Remove the screws that secure the system board [3].
    4. Slide and lift the system board from the computer chassis [4].
