Installing the palm-rest assembly
Prerequisites
If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.
About this task
The following image indicates the palm-rest assembly and provides a visual representation of the installation procedure.
Steps
NOTE:For non-WWAN LTE configuration, you must remove and transfer the dummy SIM card filler when replacing the palm-rest assembly.
- Place the palm-rest assembly on a flat surface.
- Remove the dummy SIM card filler for the non-WWAN LTE configuration.

- Install the display assembly.
- Install the keyboard assembly.
- Install the power-button board.
- Install the smart card reader.
- Install the LED board.
- Install the
system board.
NOTE:The system board can be installed with the heat sink attached in order to simplify the procedure and preserve the thermal bond between the system board and heat sink.
- Install the assembly inner frame.
- Install the memory module.
- Install the WLAN card.
- Install the WWAN card.
- Install the M.2 2280 solid-state drive or M.2 2230 solid-state drive.
- Install the 3-cell battery or 4-cell battery.
- Install the base cover.
