Removing the Bottom Cover

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer
  2. Remove:
    1. Battery

    2. Hard Drive

    3. Optical Drive

  3. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Unlock the I/O latch door [1].
    2. Lift the latch door upward to open it [3].
    3. Remove the screw that secures the bottom cover to the computer chasis [3].

  4. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Unlock back door latch [1].
    2. Lift the back door in an upward direction to open it [2].
    3. Remove the screws that secure the bottom cover to the computer chassis [3].

  5. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Unlock the HDMI latch door [1].
    2. Lift the latch door upward direction [2].
    3. Remove the screw that secure the bottom cover to the computer chassis [3].

  6. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the bottom cover [1].
    2. Lift the bottom cover to remove it from the computer chassis [2].
